 MERLIN THE DOG  ~ 2008

~ The following is included with kind permission from his owners, as Merlin passed into spirit in September 2007. What follows is taken from a Communication undertaken after this time & is therefore dedicated to Merlin ~

The first thing that I’m given upon connecting with Merlin is a memory of him sitting beside your husband & him saying to you: ‘Are you putting the kettle on love?!’ David is giving you a cheeky smile & Merlin his old-fashioned innocent look in return! Yes the pair of them were always sat that way, whoever didn’t have a dog on them had to get up for tea, the door bell the phone etc.

I’m being given information about you ‘claiming’ for something & that you are going to have to issue a reclaim on this. Could be our claim on health insurance for my contact lenses

Who called him, ‘My precious’? Me and my Mom, we were always muttering sweet nothings to him. Merlin says that he was always being told off ‘for dawdling’ as he loved to investigate anything & everything! Yes he was such a nosy boy.

Thick gravy with a soup/stew consistency has Merlin’s mouth watering as he talks of it. He wouldn’t eat as a youngster, some gravy would always help, and he loved davids cooking as the dogs get the extra gravy and scraps.

I’m being informed of a ‘rasping’ with the heart & a ‘crackle’ in the chest (I have constant chest pains throughout the Communication, which Merlin is giving me). I did wonder if he had chest pain towards his last months as he’d occasionally shiver.

I feel he was a bit bandy legged on the hind legs at times. His back end was getting a bit wobbly, he had acupuncture which seemed to help in the month or so before he passed.

A ‘Handsome Brute’ is also what someone has referred to Merlin as in an affectionate way. He was! And he knew it he was a show off!

Merlin describes where he is now as being, ‘very scenic with lots to see and lots to smell.’ I can see a woodland expanse that’s teaming with life. Merlin’s just made me laugh as he’s now peeing up one of the trees!! He thinks this quite hilarious. This totally underlines what his character is like – a right cheeky chappy! Yes that’s our Merl! He is resolving issues and is a peacemaker here, which gives me the impression that he was like this on earth too. He didn’t like getting into ructions as he had a much more ‘give and take attitude’ than other dogs.  Yes he wasn’t an aggressive dog only growling then turning away, he wasn’t one for the front lines or getting involved in strife, more likely to be shouting for quiet.

He shows me a dark cat sitting on a roof that he regularly used to watch and was quite fascinated by how it got up there in the first place! May be a local cat on our garage, wall or next doors shed, the dogs have access to our garden 24 hrs so could be out sunbathing and watching.

A dog has a problem with their right leg at the bottom/paw, causing a limp. He had a limp when he was about one, or Poppy our beagle got a bit of stick in her paw today at the park and was limping. Merlin tells me that one of the dogs ‘needs to calm down a bit and get more docile’! With this I just see a flash of tan brown! Poppy our Beagle and Molly Moms Basset! The number four with the dogs seems relevant. We have been left with 4 dogs at home. One of the dogs Merlin refers to as a, ‘heffalump’! Mom collects elephants and her Basset Maggie is a bit overweight. I can see a dishevelled red collar hanging up on a hook – I feel it belonged to a dog that passed on. His sister Rosie. Merlin says that ‘memories are kept in a biscuit tin’. Bonios and chewy sticks, he knows where it is too!

I see a union as I can see two hands joined together - this would indicate an anniversary or engagement/wedding. The Month of May is important for you. Yes its our Wedding Anniversary and my Birthday ( 40 this year) and we were on hols last year and again this year. Barcelona is relevant as I can hear the song. I love Freddie Mercury singing that song, we went there on our Cruise last May then David went on a business trip for a few days.

Merlin tells me that although he doesn’t always show it your husband can be quite soft on the inside and that, ‘Deep down he’s a good fella.’ He also tells me David enjoys ‘a drink or two’. Oh Wow you have David to a T!

There is a real issue concerning ‘forgiveness’. Merlin is asking for your forgiveness on his passing but underlines that it was the right thing to do. He tells me, ‘there wasn’t a struggle, just solace and solitude’. He talks of being left behind somewhere. We left him with my Mom while we went on holiday

He’s bringing my attention to his nose now but its unclear why? Ican only think he hated his nose touched but it got dry so I used to put cream or a bit of his spit on it to encourage him to lick it all and keep it nice

In answer to your questions, Merlin tells me that, ‘They gave me all the love, warmth and comfort that I needed’ and I get a blue blanket/towel wrapping him up with this. This is wow as I wrapped him in a large baby blue bathtowel to carry him out of Moms house to the car. Merlin says that he ‘passed how he was meant to pass’. I get ‘unknowing’ with this so a time period elapsed until he was found to have passed over. Yes he passed in the night so wasn’t found till Mom and Dad got up in the morning.

He doesn’t feel that you are able to cope at the moment with regards to sensing or seeing him. I get the sense that you are holding up the barricades and that you need to let go a little bit more. I was told exactly the same thing last week by a reiki friend of mine when I went for a session just shows I must listen having been told twice now, but I do understand and agree. With regards to what he said, he tells me that he means he is leaving your mum’s home for good. Was he in her home when he passed or often visited it in life? He was there at least once a week, Mom also came here to see them and looked after them while we were away, he was at Moms when he passed.

~ "Thankyou so much, you have made me so happy, so much is spot on and you have described him to a T. I really appreciate you doing this and would/will recommend you thankyou."
