What Happens In A Treatment?
Before a treatment I undertake a fully case history with the you. This involves going through the history of the your health and lifestyle. It also includes paperwork for you to sign to consent to the healing being carried out and acknowledging that it is not being used as an alternative to conventional medical treatment. Therefore please allow extra time for your initial session.
You will relax on a chair or therapy couch (if opting for the treatment to be carried out at the Complementary Therapy Centre) & will remain fully clothed at all times (although you may wish to remove your shoes). I will then place my hands gently on various areas of your body & head or hover them slightly above the areas (privacy is strictly maintained throughout for your comfort - all areas that I work with are completely non-invasive to you).
When I work with you & the Reiki energy I will cover your chakras, aura, particular areas that you have had problems with and areas that I am drawn to that I feel need the energy.
Please note that for you to be as relaxed as possible so that you can achieve maximum benefits from the treatment it is stongly recommended that you choose a time when your home surroundings are undisturbed as possible.
Sensations that you may experience during a treatment are of deep relaxation, heat, coolness, tingling, seeing colours, feeling serenity and/or muscular twitches.
What Should I Take Note Of?
After the session you may feel thirsty so are advised to drink plenty of water & are also advised not to drive until you feel comfortable to do so (as experiencing deep relaxation may make you feel sleepy for a while).
It is advised that you do not have Reiki healing if you have a pacemaker or have recently broken any bones. Diabetics should take regular blood sugar level checks after receiving a treatment & those with high blood pressure should keep it closely monitored.
How Many Treatments Would I Need?
This is totally up to you - I can advise as to what I would recommend but then it is left in your hands with no pressure given - even one session may make a difference.
Depending on the individual, a course of regular treatments may be more effective. These could be weekly, fortnightly or less often. A treatment plan will be discussed with you and reviewed as necessary. This will always be subject to your own preferences.
Reiki Energy Healing is classed as a complementary therapy & therefore is not intended to replace conventional treatment/medication, but to work alongside it. No guarantees are implied or stated.
Reiki Practitioners do not interfere with the treatment being given by Doctors/Nurses, nor do they prescribe medication, or perform medical treatments.
It is encouraged that you inform your Doctor of the intention to use Reiki as a complementary therapy, alongside their conventional treatment.
It is recommended that you should see your Doctor/Nurse initially for any physical or psychological ailment that you may have.
